Information Technology definition

Since IT continuously shapes his definition, this document will try to also reflect that accordingly.

For this reason, the document will be updated more than one time.

And I will appreciate if you could contribute with your comments for a better definition.

HEURISTICS

Now that we discussed in class the heuristics for user interface design...

Here's a little essay that I've written about a similar topic we all should be aware of.....>>the big impact that UCD should have on IT professionals.

CCNI

Last Tuesday's visit to CCNI dissapointed me in the way that we actually didn't get to see and TOUCH THE SUPERCOMPUTER!!

Anyway, this type of field trips and guest speakers are a very dynamic aspect of this course, which I am thoroughly enjoying.

Some good IT news of the week:>

FLEX BUILDER!!

What an amazing application!! There's only one problem that I find with IT in general, and that is: IT needs time, time to practice.
Little by little, I believe that I will start spending more and more time on building and developing , because the results are very rewarding.

A little article that I want to share as regards the use of IT for Change.

John Kolb, RPI's CIO

Today's guest speaker was a wonderful opportunity to get the sense of what a CIO actually does.
It's been the job that drove my desire to study IT, and therefore, I feel lucky for having had the chance to learn from Mr Kolb's experience.
I have been reading CIO Magazine on a weekly, almost daily basis, since 3 years already. So, Mr. Kolb for me was the first CIO I had ever heard talking. And funny or not, that means an accomplishment to get where I want.

An interesting article that lifted me up was:

AS A GEN Y KID, NOTHING ELSE I COULD SAY TONIGHT OTHER THAN:
YES WE CAN!

Second Quiz lessons

Last friday, I was really challenged by the question of hacking the Spookymail!

I looked up the source and everything... but since the question hadn't been part of the lab during the week, and was considered ""extra challenge"", I only completed the lab question and did not get to that one. That's why I was not prepared the day of the exam.

In any case, I found out how to get on Dave's fake email after class.. So, that's the lesson that I should take into account even if i didn't answer it right on the quiz.
